Song Of The Day: 4/30/12 (Sixteen Saltines)

I’ve been listening to Jack White’s new, debut solo CD, “Blunderbuss” a lot this past week, since it came out and it’s pretty awesome!!! This is real Rock & Roll, from deep down. The album is not only rocking, but also quite experimental, with even a little Ragtime style piano thrown in. It’s Blues/Rock, but so much more. The more I listen to the album, the more I really appreciate it. I’ve always liked The White Stripes and I must say he is just as good by himself. He was the main creative force behind The White Stripes, so this is basically the same exact thing, but with just himself. Today’s song of the day is the song “Sixteen Saltines” from the album. The whole album is great, but I really like the songs “I’m Shakin'” & “Trash Tongue Talker”. Have you heard the album? What do you think?

Song Of The Day: 4/19/12 (Eyes Wide Open)

Today’s song of the day is “Eyes Wide Open” by Gotye from his album “Making Mirrors”, which is a magnificent album and so different. I’ve been listening to it a ton on Spotfy, since February, but I never actually owned it, however I always like to own physical copies of all of my favorite albums and this is definitely my favorite, so far this year. I track all of my music listens with last.fm and “Making Mirrors is my most listened to album, so far this year.  His single “Somebody That I Used To Know” has complete blown up. I’m actually quite surprised that something so out of left field is getting so much mainstream attention. But I can’t complain. It’s great to see real, good music getting so much attention. Today I was at Best Buy with one of my best friends and he ended up buying me “Making Mirrors” as a Birthday gift. It’s a great addition to my CD collection. Do any of you guys own the CD? What do you think of it?
