In continuing with the 5 days of 2012 Grammys performances, I would like to share Jennifer Hudson’s performance and Whitney Houston tribute of “I Will Always Love You” as today’s song of the day. Jennifer Hudson did a beautiful job. The performance was heartfelt and moving. It was simple, which was good because it allowed everyone to reflex upon the lose the music world had felt only the day prior. Whitney Houston was such a talented vocalist and it’s very hard to top her performance of “I will Always Love You”, but Jennifer Hudson did a great job. R.I.P. Whitney Houston.
It has just been announced that Whitney Houston has passed away at the age of 48. There is no news on the cause of her death, yet. She was considered by many (including myself) to be one of the greatest female voices of all time. Her first album was released in 1985 and in her 27 year career she has accumulated somewhere around 415 awards, making her the most awarded female artist of all time. Her album/soundtrack for the movie “The Bodyguard” won Grammy for Album of the Year in 1994. She’s also the 15th all time, best selling artist in the world. Some of her most memorable hits include “Greatest Love of All”, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)”, “I Will Always Love You” and many more. We will always love YOU, Whitney. Rest in peace.
