Song Of The Day: 5/7/12 (Cosmic Girl)

Today’s song of the day is Jamiroquai’s “Cosmic Girl”. It popped into my head today because I’ve been addicted to the T.V. show, “The Universe” on History and H2. It is such an interesting show, explaining the wonders, vastness, extreme beauty and ridiculous amazingness of the universe.  We are ceritanly not alone in the universe(s). There is a more life in the universe than we can even wrap out heads around. And it’s likely that a multiverse exists, which infinitely multiples our universes infiniteness. Watch the show and see what I’m saying. In the mean time check out the song. It’s from my favorite Jamirquai album.

Song Of The Day: 5/6/12 (Don’t Kick The Chair)

Today’s song of the day comes from the “real” winner of season 1 of The Voice, Dia Frampton, with the live performance of her song “Don’t Kick The Chair” featuring Kid Cudi, from the last episode of The Voice. She may have only come in second last season, but she definitely turned out to be the winner in the end, selling more records than the actual winner, Javier Colon and showing a lot more potential as a current, popular artist. Check out the live performance. What do you think? Who do you think deserved to win season 1? Who do you think should win season 2?

Song Of The Day: 5/5/12 (Love Song)

Today’s song of the day is Sara Bareilles’ “Love Song” another old song that I’ve been hearing a lot of, all of a sudden. I love this song and Sara Bareilles as an artist. She is so talented and I hope to continue to hear a lot more great stuff from her, in the future.

Song Of The Day: 5/3/12 (Rize Of The Fenix)

Today’s song of the day is “Rize Of The Fenix” by Tenacious D, from their new album of the same name, which  will be out May 15th.  This is their first album since 2006’s “Pick Of Destiny”. Their first album (self-titled), which came out back in 2001, was so great and it brings back lots of memories. I hope the new album is just as good. What about you, are you down with the D?

Song Of The Day: 5/2/12 (The Sea)

Today’s song of the day is Corinne Bailey Rae’s beautiful and sad song, “The Sea” about her husband who died about 5 years ago from an overdose. I have never quite felt for an artist like the way I feel for Corinne when I hear this honest and heartfelt song about the loss of her husband. Listen to the lyrics and see if it doesn’t touch you. I simply LOVE Corinne. I’ve been listening to her since she came out. She is a true artist and makes such beautiful and moving music. Her first album was magnificent and then came her second album and it was possibly even better. I hope she has a long career ahead of her of more great music, like she’s been making. Can’t wait for her next album!!!

Song of The Day: 5/1/12 (Live Your Life)

I have just discovered a great new female artists. Her name is Yuna. She’s been active in the music industry for about 4 years now and has had a couple albums. Her new self titled album “Yuna” is really fantastic. I just listened to it for the first time, earlier today and it’s rare that I like an album right off the bat, but this album pretty much blew me away. Today’s song of the day is the single “Live Your Life”. What do you think? Check the album out ASAP. It’s a great little gem.

Song Of The Day: 4/30/12 (Sixteen Saltines)

I’ve been listening to Jack White’s new, debut solo CD, “Blunderbuss” a lot this past week, since it came out and it’s pretty awesome!!! This is real Rock & Roll, from deep down. The album is not only rocking, but also quite experimental, with even a little Ragtime style piano thrown in. It’s Blues/Rock, but so much more. The more I listen to the album, the more I really appreciate it. I’ve always liked The White Stripes and I must say he is just as good by himself. He was the main creative force behind The White Stripes, so this is basically the same exact thing, but with just himself. Today’s song of the day is the song “Sixteen Saltines” from the album. The whole album is great, but I really like the songs “I’m Shakin'” & “Trash Tongue Talker”. Have you heard the album? What do you think?

Song Of The Day: 4/29/12 (Do The Hippogriff)

I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and I just finished watching the final Harry Potter movie again, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2”. I’ve been re-watching all of the films, 1 weekend at a time, for the last couple months. I wanted to see all of them one last time before I put them and the books away for 7 years or so, in order to forget as much about the stories as possible, so when I re-read them, they will be like new. It’s been 13 years since I read the first book and it’s been quite a journey. So tonight, in honor of the best saga ever told, I would like to share a fun song from the 4th movie, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” called “Do The Hippogriff” by the fictional Rock band, The Weird Sisters. Harry Potter, goodbye……for now, friend……

Song Of The Day: 4/28/12 (Bambi)

Been listening to a lot of Prince lately, so I wanted to share one of his songs for today’s song of the day, but it turns out a lot of Prince songs aren’t available on Youtube. I guess Prince is strict about that. The song I picked, that I was actually able to find, was one of his early hits, “Bambi”. Get funky with it and check it out!!!
